Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

My brothers, today I ask you: when you look in the mirror, do you see Jesus? Do you look in the mirror of your soul and see some area or improvement that you need, or has your mirror gotten too dirty to reflect?  Is the mirror of your soul showing you something that you ignore? I ask you today: is there something that you can do for someone that Jesus has laid on your heart that would answer a Christian brother or sister’s prayer; and ignore? Maybe you have something that you’re praying about that is going unanswered, because you are ignoring helping someone else. Maybe your whole church is hurting because one family is going hungry, while you go out and eat a steak! One of our biggest problems today is that when we look in the mirror, all we do is see ourselves. Did you know the word “give” is in the Bible 811 times? Proverbs 25:21 “If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink.” If our heavenly father commands us to give all this to our enemies, then what is going to happen when we won’t even help our own brothers and sisters? Nothing. That is exactly what is going to happen to you! Nothing: no answered prayers and surely no blessings for a disobedient Christian. Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:26 “For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and loose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his own soul?”

All I’m saying is that we could be entertaining angels and not even know it. We might be cheating our whole church when we could be bringing blessings to the church; out of our selfishness, we just see the one man in the mirror and are not even helping him.

Is there a Christian who has gone carnal and all you do is beat him into the ground? Even if you don’t have any money to give, the greatest thing you can give is your power to pray! You see, a man with a lot of wealth can give a whole lot less; no matter how much he gives, if he doesn’t give everything the Lord lays on his heart to give. Jesus does not want some, He wants you to give your all! After all, He gave us his life on Calvary and arose so we could have it all!

          Amen
