A Father’s Day Message

Admonition: gentle reproof; counseling against a fault; instruction in duties; direction. Ephesians 6:4 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

--Read John 5:19-27.

          (19) Our kids learn from their earthly fathers, so we need to be aware of everything we do. If we don’t set a good example, how can we expect them to love God?

          (20) All fathers love to show their children how to make their first steps and talk.

          (22) It is not our place to judge people, but to love them as a brother or sister in Christ.

          (23) We have to show love, respect, and honour for Jesus Christ and His words; if not for Him, we would still be under the law and wouldn’t have the gift of grace.

          (24) This is the main point we need to understand: we have everlasting life if we believe in Him. The word condemnation means the judicial act of declaring one guilty and dooming him to punishment.

          (25) This shows the awesome power of Jesus and also the power of His Father.

          (26) When Jesus was left behind in Jerusalem, they turned back to find Him in Luke 2:49. “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

I would like to end with this verse, because if we learn nothing else, we need to get this: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
